Content
The Port of Lights is a center for digital and immersive art, operated by the international cultural provider Culturespaces. Unlike in traditional museums, the artworks here do not hang on the walls – they fill the entire space. Through enormous projection areas, motion animations, and powerful music, art becomes an all-encompassing experience that visitors can fully immerse themselves in.
Masterpieces by Vermeer, Van Gogh, Klimt, and Hundertwasser have already been presented in impressive shows, complemented by thematic content and modern interpretations. Visitors move freely through the space, sit down, walk on, pause, and experience art as intensively as rarely before.
The exhibitions change regularly and usually consist of:
a major main show featuring famous artists or themes
a complementary shorter show
musically coordinated performances
panoramic projections on walls, ceilings, and floors
Typical themes so far:
Vermeer Highlight Show
From Vermeer to Van Gogh
The Dutch Masters
Hundertwasser
Klimt
